Attending every day is directly linked to improved exam performance which should in turn lead to further learning opportunities and better job prospects. As well as this, coming to school helps to develop, friendships, social skills, team values, resilience, cultural awareness, and career pathways.

Attendance Tips for Pupils

Get a good night’s sleep. Aim for 9 – 12 hours.

Set a time to put your mobile phone away each night so you can sleep easier

Check your timetable and pack your school bag the night before with all the books you need

Ensure your PE/Dance kit and equipment for Art or Home Economics are packed the night before

Lay out uniform from the night before so everything can be easily found in the morning

Set a wake-up alarm and put it at the other side of the bedroom if necessary

Have a healthy breakfast

Leave home in good time to catch your bus or walk to school
